For me, it all started with my grandfather. When I was a teenager, he would sneak me into the casino, where we’d order martinis at 10 a.m., eat the olives as breakfast, and play slots for hours. The staff would raise their eyebrows, but he never cared—he just wanted to spend that time with me. Those moments weren’t about the casino itself; they were about connection. The stories he’d tell, the life lessons he’d pass down, the out-of-pocket jokes he’d crack—those are the things that have lasted long after the chips were cashed out.
